This stout, sluggish snake is almost helpless on land but an expert swimmer.

Diet

It is generally more active at night and feeds on fish and few types of aquatic animals.

Breeding

The female gives birth to 25-30 live young, measuring about 29 centimeters long (1 ft.), which are active and able to feed themselves immediately after birth.
