The tiny, deerlike lesser Malay
chevrotain has a robust body on extremely slender
legs. It has no horns, but in males, the canine teeth
in the upper jaw are enlarged into tusks. Body: 40

Description
A nocturnal creature, it inhabits
the dense undergrowth, making little tunnel-like trails
through which it moves. It lives alone except when
breeding. |

S.E. Asia, Indonesia in lowland
forest, usually near water |
Diet
It feeds on grass, leaves, fallen
fruit and berries. |
Breeding
The female gives birth to 1
young after a gestation of about 5 months. |
