Appearance
The rare, elusive clouded leopard
has a long, powerful body, relatively short legs and
a long tail. Body: 62 - 106 cm (24 1/2 - 41 3/4 in),
tail: 61 - 91 cm (24 - 35 3/4 in) |
Description
It is a good climber and hunts
by pouncing from trees, as well as by stalking prey
on the ground. |
Regions
Nepal to S.China, Taiwan, Sumatra,
Borneo in Resident and feeding on the tree, sleeping
on the tree in order to jump easily to the victim.
Feedin at night time. |
Diet
Birds, pigs, small deer and
cattle are the clouded leopard's main victims, and
it kills with a single bite from its exceptionally
long canine teeth. |
Breeding
A litter of 1 to 5 cubs is born
after a gestation of 86 to 92 days. |
