Black-necked Stork

Appearance

Black-Necked Stork, a kind of big bird and tall, have black-blue on head and throat and black bill also.Black above and white below,wing and tail feather tipped with white, long legs with red yellow color, male and female look the same except iris, brown in male and yellow in female. There is few black-necked stork at present.

Description



Regions

Sri Lanka, Myanmar, India, Thailand, Loas, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, New Guini, Australia, Thailand except in the south. in Black-necked stork don't like to stay around human and feeding in group, stand alone, with a couple only during breeding season, resident on the tree in the mountain or along the reservoir, feeding along the pool.

Diet

fish, shrimp, shell, frog and insect.

Breeding

Breeding by end of rainy season or beginning of winter, build nest on the tree where is on the mountain or by the pond, laying 3-5 eggs and white color. .
