Diet
The brahminy
kite feeds on frogs, crabs, snakes, fish, insects
and some carrion. It also scavenges around human habitation
for all kinds of scraps and refuse. |
Breeding
At the breeding
site the birds perform display flights before starting
to build a nest. The nest is made of sticks and lined
with leaves and is sited in a tree or among mangroves.
The female lays 1 to 4 eggs, which she incubates for
26 or 27 days while her mate keeps her supplied with
food. |
